Service learning is defined as an educational experience that is coarse-based and creadit-bearing in which students take part in an organised service activity that meets actual community needs and that are co-ordinated in collaboration with the school-university and community. This service activity helps students to reflect on it in such a way as to gain further understanding of the content of the coarse, gain a broader appreciation of the discipline, and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility. 

service learning has helped me to be able to plan activities that will benefit the community, self-discipline  and to know what the community needs. Taking part in service learning activities also helped me to understand the content taught in class and apply it outside the classroom , to acquire skills and knowledge in real-life situations and communities. lastly, service learning developed my sense of caring for others.
